Conversations That Enable Safety, Choice, and Growth

The use of Appreciative Inquiry (AI) in the context of trauma-informed practitioners, particularly application in alignment with established practices of trauma-informed practice.

During this session, participants will be introduced to an understanding of how:

1. AI’s 5D cycle (Define–Discover–Dream–Design–Deliver) aligns with trauma-informed principles (safety, trust, collaboration, empowerment, choice, and cultural humility)
2. Positive Framing can be used to shift from problem saturated narratives to purpose, possibility, and next best steps without minimizing harm.
3. Generative questions can surfaces strengths, protective factors, cultural assets, and preferred futures.
4. To apply AI micro skills during challenging trauma-informed conversations (e.g., high dysregulation, “nonattendance,” reentry stressors).
5. To translate AI into everyday workflows (intake, case notes, team huddles, supervision) and leave with a 30‑day implementation plan and simple measures.

All attendees will be provided breakfast in the morning. Lunch will be provided at the conclusion of the workshop at 12:00pm for those that would like to stay.

If you have any allergies or diet restrictions, please notify us ASAP by sending an email to CCNWebinars@carecompassnetwork.org.
